Materials and finishes

Finishes are defined in the project, with the equipment. Each work asks for a different material–water pair: what is seen and what withstands use.

For the durability of any fountain, reliable electromechanical equipment is not enough. Materials are also a pivotal piece in ensuring that a fountain remains attractive and functional for decades.

Gravel in the bed prevents effective circulation of the water and, with it, treatment of the water. The use of Corten steel, associated with chlorinated water, accelerates corrosion, spreading and contaminating the rest of the fountain with rust.
