Praça das Comunidades, in the municipality of Fafe, is a large, multi-use space where the weekly market was held for many years. With the rehabilitation of this square, three fountains were built to animate the urban centre.
The first fountain was built on the site of a former well, in the most central part of the square, with a circular form. It has an upper bowl with a collector of atomised nozzles around an old noria, and a lower bowl into which the water overflows, with 14 vertical free-water jets.
The second fountain comprises two parallel rectangular reflecting pools, each with five vertical free-water nozzles in a line. The third is a rectangular reflecting pool with small waterfalls between stepped levels and 28 vertical free-water nozzles in a line.
